Experimenting with Parallax effects

scroll down I always wanted to create some parallax effects. Just for science of course. On this page I will give it a try. There are several ways to do it. So let's just look at some of them...

Parallax Scrolling effects with skrollr

In this exercise I will use a Javascript framework for parallax scrolling: skrollr. So please go ahead and scroll down (and up again if you want) to experience the constantly scrolling background.

Scrolling further down and you will be amused by the ever changing color of three advertisment formats.

1st try - I am just a changing background color.

I am an attention whoring advertisment that gives you rotating background images colors while you are scrolling! Do you see me? Hello? Helloo? Yes that's right - ignoring me is futile! you might also click as well..

And just a third one to try out hsl instead of rgb background color

conclusion

Apparently I couldn't get the 2nd version to work on my Android (Froyo - 2.2) device. It seems, that it doesn't support mutliple background-images, as this is required for option #2. But this framework works quite well and one can put it to good use.

I will still have to test if this works on an iPad.
